We have three big things that we want to talk to you about today. Number one is it’s the holidays. So we want to give you some tips about holiday marketing and we have two big announcements. All right, question number two, Dave in the TV special, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. What three words best describe the Grinch?

All right. Fail.

Stink, stank, stunk. Hopefully, none of you have Grinch customers, but that would be another reason why you want to get into catering and we’ll talk more about that in a few minutes.

And finally, Dave, what Christmas beverage is awesome known as milk punch?

Am I going to go zero for three?

Come on. You know the answer.


I ended with that one because eggnog is a better beverage and you guys out there who have coffee, smoothie, juice bar, ice cream, dessert and snack shops. I bet you’re doing some kind of eggnog themed, holiday treats.

Right, so Dave, fill people in on what our schedule has been like these past two weeks when it comes to holiday marketing.

I just have one word in saying that it’s been really crazy. This has been the busiest year. I can remember.

Yeah. Our sales, I’m going to share our numbers with you. We did over $40,000 in these past two weeks, which is actually more than double what we did it last December as a whole, and we’re not really even doing any marketing. Our clients know that if they don’t get in our calendar, they are not going to get their day and time.

I think we had somebody call today to schedule for today. They called at 2:00 for 3:30 PM.

Now Dave was it always like that for us?

Absolutely not. No, of course not. When we first started, we didn’t even think about, you know, really tying catering in with the holidays because our product, when we started really in the catering part of our business with smoothies and it’s December in Washington DC, which is not exactly warm. So we really didn’t have any catering business this time of the year for many, many years.

Right. That’s exactly right. And when we first started catering, we just kind of died off in the winter and so did our cash flow and then we started realizing, well why don’t, why don’t we do some kind of catering in the winter? And our mindset, in the beginning, wasn’t quite right cause we’re like, well we’re not a caterer. Catering means we have to do food because that’s what people want during the holidays. Well gosh were we wrong in glad we figured that out. So actually it kind of happens in two ways. One is we subcontract under caterers who are doing food to offer gourmet coffee and espresso bars and hot chocolate bars with toppings. Those are our two most popular packages this time of year and both are just so easy to do. Our staff love doing them, corporate clients. It could be actually a building that’s doing it as tenant appreciation or the office themselves doing it as like a holiday treat.

We’ve done some churches over the weekend. We’ve been doing churches that are having events for their congregation and we even do the private parties. So it really covers the gamut, right?

Right. Everything. It covers everything. So we have plenty of recipes for coffee drinks, all kinds of cool stuff and they are really good. A lot of them, we’ve tried a lot of them and we want to feature you.
